Day 25

I did not have a lot of time last night to work because I stopped at Home Depot again. This time I was buying more paint samples, and I think I found the ones I like. I will still need to go to Home Depot tomorrow because I ran out of paint tonight.

I used my new texture gun, the problem is I left the directions at home. I tried to guess my playing with setting within our middle one's closet because I need a few touch up areas. I just could not get it just right, but I think it is at a point where it will work for touch ups. Maybe if I start with the right setting it works better.

My practice area, I just thought I was done with the closet. There was several areas that need to be touched up from where we pulled out the original part of the closet.

I am also becoming an expert in mixing up sheetrock mud.

I also textured the middle one's wall.

I started painting little bit's room. I am using the same gray as the hallway and the middle one's room. Again the wall it does not look like the same gray. We are also going to do an accent wall around the closet later on.

While I was busy with those projects, hubby worked on the kitchen. He removed the studs from the kitchen cut out, and built out the wall in the garage. It is hard to see the picture in the garage because I did not have any light. Next the plumber is coming out to relate lines and then we will be ready for the cabinets. I am so excited.

Day 24

Today was shopping day, which is fun. We also picked up the new fireplace, and I cannot wait to start working on it.

We went to Lowe's and Home Depot (twice) on Sunday. We picked up more paint samples, I am trying to decide on cabinet colors and my pantry.

We also picked up lighting for outside, little bit's closet and the entry way. I am so excited.

I also picked up a small texture gun so I can touch up and do small spaced. The big gun was difficult in the closet and the ceiling. I also had mud all over me by the end of the day from trying to texture small spaces.

Little bit was having fun, but she was packed in with all the stuff we bought.

Day 23

My in laws had an event later in the afternoon so they did not come over today. Instead they offer to watch little bit, which was a big help while we worked on the house. Mom and Dad came over to help. Mom worked on more wallpaper today. Dad helped with electrical outlets and texturing.

I really like this big knockdown knife, it works really well and fast. I have a smaller one for touch ups and small areas, but this one works good for first round.

I also worked on the old formal dining room, it is starting to come along nicely.

Day 22

It was a very yucky rainy day. I really did not want to get out in the rain, but I needed to sand the mud on the walls before we texture. So little bit and I went over to the house and worked for a few hours.

The day before my mother in law finished up little bit's closet. Then I also added a better picture of the door way. The yellow still looks off in the picture, but it is beautiful in person. I am having to take these with my iphone because my hubby took my camera on his trip.

The middle's room is coming along nicely. I think she will like her purple closet. I still have a spot to touch up and sand.

There were two spots, one on the window and one in the corner that I was not happy with in the middle's bedroom. I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to these things and it drives me crazy. So I will spend the next two days or so correcting these areas. In these pictures I already started mudding one and standing the other.

Sanding is never a clean job, you can see the haze in the air and the white dust in my hair. Again, I am a perfectionist and I look for anything texture will not cover up.

I found some areas in little bits play room where the old wallpaper lines were showing through, so I had to mud again. It is better to get it right now, than later after we have already painted.

I also had to add some mud to a gap in the entry way. My hubby thinks I can fix anything with mud, and he does not realize how difficult it is to get it just right. I had filled it in, but it sank once it dried. So I am having to add some more mud.

Then little bit wanted some pictures. She looks really shaggy, the rain made her hair fall. I usually will curl up her bangs so they are out of her eyes, but not tonight. I am trying to let them grow out.

Days 17 through 21

Sorry it has been a little quite lately. Hubby was out of town on business last week, so it was a little slow. During the week, my wonderful mother in law was able to work on little bit's playroom and our middle one's bedroom.

For the rest of the week, we all mostly rested to get geared up for the next week. I am excited how far things are coming along in the process.

The following is little bit's playroom. The colors in the first and last picture are the closest to the real colors. The pictures did not do it justice. I did not have any light in this room, so it was hard to capture the true color. The yellow around the door looks like a neon yellow, which is not the actual color. It is more like the tone of the first picture. I think the closet picture shows a truer picture of the yellow. It is starting to look super cute. I still plan to add trees, clouds, grass, etc...

The following is our middle one's room. She picked out a plum purple, and we used the same gray we are using in the hallway. It is a really pretty gray and will use it for little bit's room and our room as well.

This is the closet partly painted. She wanted her closet to be purple as well.

Day 16

We did not do too much today. We mostly showed off the house to family, and our long time friends who are living out of state. We have not seen our friends for three years, so it was nice to visit with them.

Late in the evening I went to the house to set up the walls for painting. We have so many people helpings us, I will prep the walls with the colors I want. I also started outlining little bit's play room. I think it will be cute when it is finished. It is going to be an outdoor scene with tress, hills, flowers, and sky.

The following is our middle's room, and it will be a light gray and plum color. The color on the wall does not look too purple, but you can see it better in the closet picture. I also painted the new textured wall and it looks good. The gray is the same as the hall way, the picture are not showing the true colors.

I also bought the fireplace today, I am excited for it to arrive.
