Day 71

Our plumber came out today and finished up the plumbing so the island could be set in the morning. I am very excited to have the island in place. Mark also took out the door and trim to the multipurpose room. We are going to have a hallway there as well.

I am learning a lot about cabinets and how to make them look like new again. Several of the cabinet doors had worn edges that we were sanding.

I thought I could paint over them after sanding and they would remain smooth. I was wrong, the paint makes them bubble up. You can see the bottom edge of this door we painted and how it bubbled up and is rough.

I found if I use wood filler it makes it smooth and is easy to paint over. Problem solved.
