Day 15

Everyone was back over early the next day to finish taking out the back porch, installing windows into the new wall, and more prep work. We are hoping in two weeks to have the 24 ft beam installed and we can completely open up the whole room.

I spent most of my day either texturing, using the texturing gun below or floating sheet rock.

This was my practice place, the old kitchen wall.

My first time using it on Gabby's wall, I thought I was doing pretty good. Mark was there supervising.
Little bit was not too sure about things, she stayed back.

This is a pretty cool knife. I am using it for a knocked down effect on the texture. It is about 2 feet long.

It is hard to tell, but the wall came out really well, this is after it started to dry. I also textured a spot in the hall way that needed some update.

I finished floating the former dinner room and little bit's room.

Little bit and I also took down some more sheet rock.

One thing I love about our new home is the fact little bit and boxer dog GiGi can play outside by themselves. This house has so many windows we can see them from anywhere, and it is fenced in. They were having fun.

We also put up a new beam for the opening from the kitchen into the living room. I am going to love this opening, it will be nice.

We also started removing the title around the fireplace, and we plan to buy a new fire place.

The guys finished removing the triangle wall, I removed the hallway outside door, and a few other construction pictures.

Then to wrap things up, I started painting the trim in the hallway.

Day 14 - Two weeks

Mark took off the day before and today. I am amazed at how much he was able to get completed. His parents and brother came over as well and helped. They finished framing up the back wall which was a big accomplishment. I also finished taking and bedding the sheet rock. I am hoping to be able to start texturing this weekend. Even little bit was helping out.

I was busy with taping and bedding sheet rock. I also had my Dad come over and help with electricity. Little bit was helping us as well.  I worked on little bit's room, and the former dining room.

That is dad helping move the junction box that was in the wrong place.

Here is the finished view of the living room and old breakfast nook.

After everyone left I told Mark I was missing out on all the demo fun. He did not think demo was fun and I thought I had been watching too much of "Fixer Uppers" on HGTV. I wanted to busted out some sheet rock, so he let little bit and I have our fun while he relaxed. He told me that is not how you remove sheet rock, I replied this is the fun way. Not only did I use a hammer, I also kicked out a few places with my foot as well. I thought it was fun. ;)
